Charlie Metcalfe, the chief executive officer of First State Investments responsible for the UK, Europe and North America, has left the firm in the midst of a management reshuffle.

Metcalfe left on Wednesday, according to a spokesman at the firm, whose parent company, Commonwealth First State, is the funds business of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and which manages £62bn (€70bn) of assets,
