Jon Corzine has taken a big step forward in his bid to turn broker-dealer MF Global into a worldwide investment bank with the appointment of a former Citigroup veteran to lead the firm in Europe.

Richard Moore, a former head of fixed income at Citigroup in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will fill the gap left by the departure of James Roswell, who exited the role in October. He will join the firm in April, according to a statement from MF Global today.
