MF Global goes on hiring spree

MF Global, a commodities and listed derivatives broker, has been on a hiring spree. Joining the commodities group are: Shay Caherly as head of commodities derivatives trading in New York, arriving from ED&F Man Holdings where he was head of commodity derivatives; Christopher Wright from Susquehanna International Group, Charles Daly from Kotte Associates and Christopher Chiarilli from First New York Securities join as commodity derivatives traders in New York, reporting to Caherly; Edward Boxshall as a London-based energy futures broker from Black Gold Energy; and Gareth Clark joins as a metals broker in London from Newedge Group. In mortgage-backed securities: Evan Malik and Phil Hermann join as co-heads of the mortgage- and asset-backed securities sales team from Braver Stern where they were founding partners of the firm's mortgage business; and Richard Onkey, who previously worked at UBS, joins the mortgage-backed securities sales team in New York. In Credit: David Prinn and Christopher LeVine have joined the credit sales team in New York from RBC Capital Markets and Chapdelaine Credit Partners respectively; Caesar Silvestro also joins the team from Chapdelaine focusing on research on the credit space in high-yield and distressed debt; Fred Allen joins the credit sales team in Chicago from Jefferies where he was president of investment grade credit sales; Nadia Elhosh, who previously worked at Mitsubishi UFJ Trust, joins the European high-yield and distressed debt sales team in London; and Raphael Ramos joins the institutional fixed income credit sales team as head of French regional coverage in London. In equity derivatives: Joseph Gahtan, formerly a managing director at JPMorgan, joins to manage equity derivatives sales in New York and Peter Wells, who previously worked at Nikko Citigroup as global head of Japanese equities, joins as head of equity trading for Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong. In emerging markets: Michael Muller joins the fixed income emerging markets team to manage emerging markets sales in New York from Gleacher & Company where he was a director of emerging market and high-yield sales.
