MicroStrategy to pay board directors in bitcoin

MicroStrategy said the move was a sign of support for bitcoin as a store of value

The fees will be denominated in US dollars and then converted into bitcoin by MicroStrategy’s payment processor, before being deposited into each director’s individual digital wallet

Business analytics firm MicroStrategy plans to compensate the non-employee directors on its board in bitcoin.

The firm, which has become one of the largest corporate backers of bitcoin, had its proposal approved by its board on 12 April. Going forward, all non-employee directors “will receive all fees for their service on the company’s board in bitcoin instead of cash”, the firm said.
