An independent body representing investors in the Middle East has been set up in a bid to boost transparency in the region, where private equity fundraising continues to grow.

The Middle East Investor Relations Society said in a statement it will attempt to develop the region's investor relations profession in line with the growth of its markets. It will provide investors with guidance on best practice and lobby for clear disclosure standards at the private equity firms with which they invest.
