German bank Berenberg has hired a head of M&A to lead a push into a new business line as part of a series of recruits as it rebuilds its City operation after job cuts last year.

Miles Cox, a partner in the M&A division at rival Peel Hunt, is joining Berenberg in the newly-created role of head of M&A, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed to Financial News.
