Sir Brian Williamson, chairman of the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (Liffe), has joined mloop, an online mobile telephone exchange, as a non-executive director.

Mloop is a web-based exchange on which mobile telecommunications companies can interact anonymously to buy and sell handsets at market-driven prices. It was set up in response to unpredictable customer demand and rapid changes in geographical trends in mobile handsets.
