Mark Mobius and Crispin Odey have joined a small group of City figures who want to see Boris Johnson as UK prime minister, despite broader fears among financiers of the damage his election could do to business.

Mobius, the renowned emerging markets investor who left Franklin Templeton in 2018 to set up Mobius Capital Partners, told Financial News: “He is very good at connecting with people and putting a humorous colour to difficult environments. If we can laugh at our troubles, we can more easily survive.”
