Moderna short-sellers lost millions on 17 August after the company confirmed that its new vaccine generated a "robust immune response" against Covid’s Eris variant.

Amid Moderna’s 7% stock rise on 17 August, short-sellers lost roughly $119m in 24 hours, according to data provided by financial analytics firm ORTEX.
