Buyout firm Montagu Private Equity is expected to choose a buyer for its survival equipment manufacturer within a week, according to a source close to the deal, which has received interest from some of the biggest private equity firms in Europe.

Carlyle Group is the current favourite to win the auction for Survitec Group, the source said; the only other competitor left being Warburg Pincus.
