Securities settlement on Express II, the new Italian securities clearing and settlement system, will begin on December 8, according to Monte Titoli, the Italian central securities depository.

Express II will be introduced in two phases. From launch untill January 26 2004 it will settle corporate bond transactions and then expand to settle all securities.
