The European arm of private equity placement agent Monument Group is gearing up to target small- to mid-cap funds, a new area of activity for the firm, after hiring a director from a UK mid-market buyout group.

Monument, which established an office in London two years ago, has appointed Janet Brooks, a former director and board member of ECI Partners.
