Chinese millionaires increase by 85,000

The number of Chinese 'super-rich' – defined as those with $15m or more – rose by 9% to 60,000 since last year

People may be feeling poorer in the western world, as governments slash back on state spending, but China’s wealth is growing unabated with more millionaires than ever before. A total of 85,000 more, in fact.

New figures show that the number of dollar millionaires in the country is up 9.7% to 960,000 year-on-year, according to the Hurun Wealth Report, which is the Chinese equivalent of the Forbes Rich List.
