The new chairman of the European private equity trade body is a senior partner at US private equity firm TPG Capital and an active lobbyist in the buyout industry’s effort to soften EU legislation.

Vincenzo Morelli is the 29th chairman of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, taking over from Karsten Langer. He will hold the position until June 2013.
