Morgan Stanley appoints UK advisory head for buyout push

Takeover Panel head returns as investment banking chairman

Morgan Stanley has moved one of its top advisory bankers to spearhead a push into European private equity amid fears that the buyout boom is over, at the same time as bringing back the former director general of the Takeover Panel as chairman of UK investment banking.

Brian Magnus, previously head of UK investment banking, has been made co-head of European private equity alongside Graham Keniston-Cooper.
