Former COO Nides rejoins Morgan Stanley

Thomas Nides, the former US deputy secretary of state and former chief operating officer at Morgan Stanley, is to rejoin the US investment bank as a vice chairman. He will have a broad role focusing on the firm's global clients, and will work with senior management on external and government affairs. He will join the operating and management committees, and will report to chairman and chief executive James Gorman.
