Credit Suisse First Boston has picked David Ballard of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as a managing director and head of US equity-linked capital markets.

Ballard, who was co-head of convertibles origination at Morgan Stanley, replaces John McAvoy, who is relocating from New York to London to assume the new position of global head of convertibles capital markets.
