Morgan Stanley wins €2.2bn Enel block trade

Morgan Stanley has won a competitive auction for a €2.2bn ($2.6bn) block of shares in Enel, the Italian electricity utility, in the biggest bought deal in Europe for three years. It has yet to sell all of the shares.

The previous record was held by KPN when Citigroup led a €2bn block trade of shares in the Dutch telecoms firm after buying shares from the Dutch government last month.
