Morgan Stanley wins Méridien's £700m hotels sale mandate

Morgan Stanley has been appointed to sell the international hotels business of Le Méridien, following a breakdown in restructuring talks between Lehman Brothers, one of the group's biggest lenders and Hyatt, the US hotel chain.

The assets, which include the Forte village in Sardinia and Le Royal Meridien Bristol in Warsaw, are worth in the region of £700m. Meridien has debts of around £1bn.
