Debbie Fuhr, a central figure in the global exchange-traded funds industry, has stepped down from her role as managing director on the consolidated equities team at Morgan Stanley, according to a source at the bank.

Fuhr’s regular research reports on ETFs are regarded as some of the most authoritative in the industry, which has grown to over $805bn (€519bn), according to her most recent report published two weeks ago.
