Lehman Brothers, the US investment bank which is expanding in Europe, has hired Morgan Stanley's head of UK investment banking, Michael Tory, banking sources said last night.

Tory is believed to be joining Lehman as a senior banker and member of the bank's European executive committee, and will have a diverse portfolio of UK and international clients.
