Morningstar opts for IPO to fund acquisitions

Morningstar, the investment research firm, has outlined plans to raise up to $100m (€83m) through an initial public offering in the US, as it looks to make strategic acquisitions and expand further internationally.

The company has selected Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and William Blair & Company to lead its IPO, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
