Fund ratings service Morningstar has criticised proposals by 11 leading fund managers that there should be a pan-European industry review of the way fund ratings are categorised by ratings agencies.

Morningstar is one of the UK's three leading ratings providers for retail funds, along with Standard & Poor's, Micropal and Lipper.
