Morris review seeks independent supervision of actuaries

An interim report into the UK's actuarial profession has called for its activities to be regulated by an independent supervisory body such as the Financial Reporting Council.

The UK Treasury-sponsored report by Sir Derek Morris, the head of the UK Competition Commission, said self-regulation had failed to address the changing actuarial environment.
