Asset managers’ attempts at innovating with new products are falling flat, as more mutual funds are failing to survive a decade after launch.

Only 37% of mutual funds unveiled in 2013 still existed at the end of last year, according to a report by Boston Consulting Group. The survival rate is down significantly from 2010, when 60% of funds launched a decade earlier remained active.
