Private equity veteran Jon Moulton has admitted his latest round of public fundraising has been the most difficult in the public markets of his career after failing to match the size of his firm's previous vehicle.

Moulton, the founder and chairman of UK turnaround firm Better Capital, said the firm's second fundraising took more than twice as long as its first amid a challenging small-cap market.
