Santander UK confirms head of global corporate banking appointment
Santander UK confirmed the appointment of Juan Garrido Otaola as head of Santander Global Corporate Banking UK and CEO of Abbey National Treasury Services. Garrido had undertaken the role on an interim basis since his appointment as head of UK Markets in March 2016. Prior to this appointment, he was the head of SGCB Mexico at Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico and held several senior positions within the group. He began his career at JP Morgan and held roles within equity sales, derivatives, options and money markets.

Women in Banking and Finance appoints Citi MD as president
Women in Banking and Finance, the UK-wide networking and development organisation, announced that Vivienne Artz would lead the network from April 2017 as its new president. Artz is an managing director at Citi and general counsel for intellectual property, technology and privacy legal for the Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific regions. She takes over from outgoing president, Janet Thomas, founder and CEO of TouchFX. WIBF is a non-profit organisation founded in 1980.
