The UK’s influential Treasury Committee says the time has come to formally regulate crypto assets like bitcoin, the growing market for which has been likened to the “wild west”.
The Committee, chaired by Conservative MP Nicky Morgan, launched an investigation into the risks and rewards of cryptocurrencies and their underlying technology in February and published its findings on Wednesday.
