UK lawmakers have voted by a narrow majority to seize control of the Brexit process, giving them the chance to shift away from the government’s chosen path for leaving the EU.

The government, led by prime minister Theresa May, lost by 302 to 329 votes, a majority of 27, with 30 Conservative MPs going against their party.
