MSCI creates first indices for real-time analysis

US-based index provider MSCI is launching a series of 750 global, real-time indices on Tuesday which it believes will be the first that clients can analyse instantly.

The indices cover all the developed markets and the Asian emerging markets. Fund managers use them to benchmark portfolios against and traders make markets in derivatives based on them. Fund managers and traders will now be able to break the indices down into individual countries, sectors or industry groups, at any time.
