The popularity of multi-asset funds among institutional investors is growing at a phenomenal rate, according to investment consultants.

Client presentations given by Aon Hewitt, the investment consultants, show that assets under management in multi-asset funds - also known as diversified growth funds - in the UK and Ireland have risen from £30bn to about £50bn over the past 12 months.
