A large proportion of pension schemes in the UK are reviewing their attitudes to investing in private equity because of the Myners report on institutional investment, according to a survey conducted by JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management.

The government-led review in 2001 of the institutional investment industry by Paul Myners, the former chairman of Gartmore Investment Management, called for pension funds to consider the importance of private equity in a diversified portfolio.
