Myners recommends scrapping MFR

The UK's minimum funding requirement (MFR) should be scrapped, Paul Myners told UK Chancellor Gordon Brown and Social Security Secretary Alistair Darling.

Myners, chairman of Gartmore who was asked to review the MFR, argued that the funding requirement is seriously inadequate as a form of protection.
