The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has called for legislative change and practical innovation to encourage more UK pension schemes to invest in start-up enterprises.

In its response to Paul Myners' consultation on institutional investment, conducted on behalf of the UK Treasury, the NAPF pointed to Section 191 of the 1986 Financial Services Act as an obstacle to pension fund investment in private equity.
