Nasdaq Deutschland to cease trading on August 29

Nasdaq Deutschland, the German offshoot of the US high-tech market, is to close on August 29 after failing to increase its trading volumes since its launch just six months ago.

The exchange did not attract any new listings from German companies and has suffered from low turnover. The decision to close was taken by a meeting of Nasdaq Deutschland's supervisory board and shareholders on Monday afternoon.
