Natexis investment banking revenue drops by half

Natexis Banques Populaires, the French investment bank, has posted a 51% fall in revenue from its core investment banking unit in the first half of this year.

The bank's capital markets and private equity business generated income of €103m ($115.7m) in the first six months of this year, half that of the same time last year but an increase of 43% on the second half of 2002.
