Natixis Investment Managers, a French fund group with €808bn under management, has joined a number of its continental European peers pitching into the market for thematic equity funds.

The funds, which make investments in companies based around a single economic theme such as artificial intelligence, water scarcity or gender equality, have had strong appeal among continental European retail and wealth clients in particular. Pictet Asset Management have established themselves as specialists in the field.
