NatWest bidders take a knock

Banks involved in the bidding for NatWest took further knocks yesterday as leading investors dumped shares as they moved to reduce their exposure to the out-of-favor sector, reports The Daily Telegraph.

One fund manager swimming against the stream was Scottish Windows, which spent about £18m on NatWest shares. Sellers of the bank included Phillips & Drew, Hill Samuel and even NatWest's own asset management arm Gartmore.
