Neil Woodford investors to get cash back in January

Investors have been barred from withdrawing money from Woodford’s flagship fund since it was frozen in June

Thousands of investors that have been locked into Neil Woodford’s flagship Equity Income fund since its suspension six months ago will start to receive their first payments in January, according to the administrator overseeing its wind-up.

An update from Link Fund Solutions said that £1.65bn-worth of the fund’s assets had been sold by BlackRock Advisors, which was appointed in October to offload its listed stocks.
