Any comeback staged by fund manager Neil Woodford in the wake of his downfall last year would be “galling” for the thousands of investors in his now defunct flagship Equity Income fund, some industry commentators say.

Reports emerged over the weekend that the former star stock-picker, once known as Britain's answer to Warren Buffett, was advising a boutique alternatives outfit.
