‘Game over’ for Woodford: stricken equity fund to be wound down

Fallen star of UK fund management disagrees with decision to return assets to investors at 'earliest opportunity'

The crisis-stricken flagship £2.9bn investment fund overseen by fallen star manager Neil Woodford is to be wound down, with any remaining assets returned to investors “at the earliest opportunity”.

The decision means the Woodford Equity Income fund, which has been closed to dealing since June 3, will not reopen in December as previously planned.
