New Irish pension to be operational by October

Ireland's €6bn National Pensions Reserve Fund should go live at the start of October.

The scheme will be managed by the National Treasury Management Agency, which is currently working on the appropriate benchmark for the fund, said John Corrigan, a director of the National Treasury Management Agency. The fund will invest in international equities and a substantial portion of the assets is likely to be outsourced to external investment managers.
