New Jersey to invest $9bn in alternatives

The $66bn (€51bn) New Jersey State Investment Council has approved a plan to invest 13% of its state pension scheme's assets in alternative investments.

The council voted seven to two in favour of the plan. The council's aim is to diversify its investment portfolio, which is entirely in public equity and bonds managed in-house.
