The rush to consolidate in the technology, media and telecoms sector is creating a new set of problems for companies and their advisers, according to a report by Arthur Andersen.
Many companies are not paying enough attention to the integration of new economy firms, and are not planning far enough in advance, said John Ormerod, managing partner of Arthur Andersen's technology, media and communications practice for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. This, when almost 75% of the major M&A players expect their companies to increase M&A activity in the next year, according to the report.
