New Star mops up funds from split-cap firms

New Star Asset Management has entered into an agreement with Exeter Investment Group to take over the management of all 13 of the troubled firm's unit trusts and OEIC sub-funds.

The deal comes just over six months after New Star bought six retail funds from Aberdeen Asset Management, a firm that like Exeter that has struggled in the aftermath of the split capital scandal in the UK and is looking to cut costs.
