New Star Asset Management, set up by John Duffield, founder of Jupiter Asset Management, has appointed Credit Suisse First Boston and Deutsche Bank as prime brokers for the latest hedge fund launch.

The New Star European Hedge Fund, the firm's second hedge fund, will focus on exploiting inefficiencies in the pricing of individual stocks. The portfolio is likely to comprise approximately 75 long positions and 40 short positions.
