A former NFL star is among a six-strong team of wealth managers that Barclays has hired from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, amid a continued expansion of the UK bank's wealth and investment management unit in New York.

The Smith Barney team, formed by Edward Moldaver and known as the 'Moldaver 80 Group', comprises six wealth managers who provide investment, brokerage and banking services to high net worth individuals and their families. They join Barclays' wealth and investment management division in New York.
