Credit rating agencies were broadly positive on the merger between Credit Suisse First Boston and its parent group Credit Suisse, which was completed this month. However, they differed on the Swiss group's appetite for risk. Standard & Poor's expects "disciplined risk taking", while Fitch said the Swiss group's trading "is not commensurate with the risks incurred" and warned that risk appetite could increase.
