News in brief: Deutsche aims to strengthen Irish fund sales

Deutsche Asset Management has appointed Ronnie Culliton as head of institutional sales for Ireland. His move from Deutsche in Frankfurt follows restructuring of the business last year and consolidation of its European operations into a single division run by James Goulding, chief executive. Culliton's appointment reflects efforts by Mark Scott, European institutional head of sales, to expand in the region.

Ian Spilsbury has left Dresdner RCM Global Investors, where he was business development manager for various UK regions, and joined rival UK house ABN Amro Fund Managers. Spilsbury, who spent seven years at Dresdner, will be regional sales manager with responsibility for south east England and Ireland at the UK-based fund management arm of ABN Amro Asset Management.
