Rolf Breuer, chief executive of Deutsche Bank, told shareholders at the annual general meeting that the bank was looking for acquisitions or partnerships in asset management and its consumer business in Europe and the US.
Breuer said that it was important for the bank to increase its number of consumer banking clients. But the bank saw no need for further investment banking acquisitions after the purchase of Bankers Trust in 1999, he said. Breuer said: "Here, we want to pursue strong, organic growth."
